Festival in 2008

Every year during the week of August 6, they celebrate the festivities in honor of "El Salvador". There are also of San Antón, which held on 17 January. This year I was able to enjoy the holidays and I'll show you some things that are done on them. could not attend all events, I hope to gather with your help (if any of the people sees this page and has pictures), to complete the festivities this year.

PARTY START.
The festivities begin with the placement of tissue in the "dove " the source of the square.

SPANISH WINE.
English Wine Day. On this day, preparing a snack in the town square to all who wish to attend. As shown in the pictures and video, there are several tables full of snacks and the commission is going on with trays of ham and cheese, plus the bar at which you can zoom in and ask anything you want and as you can hear in the video the brass band entertains us all the events.
.
.
ROLL DAY.
This day is celebrated Mass at Church of the town and then transported to San Salvador to the holy shrine.
.
.

Once at the chapel and placed the saint, is preparing the distribution of film, people go in and collect your roll out of the back where we offer a napkin , which is then very useful (if just manchandote )
.

.

At the entrance we find with the distributors of muscatel wine offer not stop. When the rolls just been distributed to all people, get away with offering boxes that are left. Among the muscat or wine and the books, imagine how we got home. Without hunger, think no evil.
.
As you see does not deprive anyone, young, older and charanga, go but if there is also the cure.

DAY OF THE PAELLA.
this day in the Lagoon is hired by the commission as a service and make a paella for all to sign up. The previous day, and you can search site because it is crowded and is quite lively with fanfare and final water fight.
.

.

We also have other entertainment this day, the bull mechanical and inflatable .
.

change this year was the appearance of the foam, the kids enjoyed it and so do not think any kid is what happened chupi .
In this video we see how well you spend with the foam.

costume contest.
.
This year I saw a large participation, I hope that next year the youth put the batteries.

ORCHESTRAS.
And let's not forget the big bands that bring us every day. In addition to the party I want more, some days it still has the mobile disco until dawn, or until you drop.
I have not caught one of the best moments orchestras, but then came some that were quite a spectacle.

Teatrillo .
On the afternoon of this day is contracted a little theater for the kids and do all dance and play.

GAMES AND CHOCOLATE FINAL.
the last day of the celebrations of the commission prepare some games and a large chocolate for all, I think it's the day more fun and sad at the time because it just parties.
Gifts flying through the air by firecrackers thrown, and all ran to look for one.
The chocolate is a time that I think many children turn to be much more savor the moment.
the end from the balcony of City Hall threw us all kinds of things, did enough exercise to have to stoop to pick up everything you throw away.

From here, I thank all who make it possible for festivals and traditions of this and other villages in any part of world, keep fighting so they will not be forgotten, also those who by their presence and participation are encouraged and involuntary filling the seats of many people worldwide.

PALOMAR
OF STREAMS.

streams Palomar is a village of simple people, where you can relax and also visit many villages of great interest, Alcaniz, Calanda, Andorra and many more that we will know (photos in the gallery of Aragon). Or you can have a good time with their typical holiday.

And here, where is the house where my mother was born.

PALOMAR OF STREAMS.

Photos taken from the Hermitage of Santa Barbara. Image
left. View of the village with the church almost as high (dedicated to San Juan Bautista, baroque temple belonging to the seventeenth century). To the right another view of the town with the works of the new road will pass through the outskirts, near the old mines.

Picture left is the old mines and a reservoir that is formed due to land clearing (placement and explosion of dynamite to get faster coal). On the right, where the car is parked Pilar Street, right green door birthplace of my mother and with the magnificent view of the church.

Ermita de Santa Barbara (patroness of miners).
.
This building is newly built and it houses the remains of the ancient temple from the top of this mountain are reached with panoramic views of the people. (The curious thing about the right picture is that is made from the left window that contains grids. Can it be a miracle?)

ABREVADERO.
.

Place baby chivalry and where the kids were coming to take spoonbills (tadpoles).

DOORS AND ARCHES.
.

Walking through the streets of town, we can still see doors and arches over one hundred years old. much of the new village has been rebuilt, some by luck trying to keep their gates and doors, I hope the image I have when I was little to get around town, do not change, I'm sorry to see things that are gone, even if it is to improve the village. I think we should try to keep where many of you have been born. A nation is what it is, not cambiéis.

Eras.

low .......................................... Eras ................. Eras Altas.

As its name suggests, on the bottom and top of the people have the eras, where small with harvesting and threshing the donkey went to our grandparents or parents. I think this is one of the most beautiful memories we have stored.

Ordesa National Park

More pictures: Here

Here send a few pictures of the Ordesa National Park. If anyone has want to walk without getting tired too, I recommend you visit this valley, and of course reaching the famous waterfall "Cola de Caballo" (about 3 ½ hours one way). The route is not hard and dense and spooky forests alternating beech, with occasional small waterfall, like that for me in the river Llobregat. An interesting fact to tell you that the yellow spots that appear in any pictures are a plant species characteristic of these places, called "erizon." To know why it is called so, you just have to try sitting on it.

ANGEL, THANKS FOR YOUR COLLABORATION AND I HOPE THAT IS NOT THE LAST TIME WE send photos HOW ARE YOU SO NICE.

Barcelona Botanical Garden

Prior to the opening of this botanical garden was in the city of Barcelona is now known as Historic Botanical Garden (reopened to the public in October 2003). This garden was created in 1930 by Dr. Pius Font i Quer on the "avenue dels Muntanyans" Montjuic Park, being easily recognizable by presenting the largest trees found in the city.
Due to the refurbishment of facilities at Montjuic for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, had to open new access, which affected the stability of steep terrain Historic Botanical Garden, which meant that it should close the public .

streams Palomar Pontes de Gatin-Lugo-Galicia

This year, summer 2009, we returned to Galicia, Lugo-Pontes de Gatin. There are sites that just once, but there are others who always come back. Pity that so far, taking home where we would sleep a lot more than a year. We visited new places, as the Ribeira Sacra, Cee, Finisterre, Muxía, Camariñas, Laxe and some known, but in more depth and Lugo, also a nearest village which surprised us as Cebreiro and San Roman. You have some images to put you and I long teeth you decide to visit, although a very beautiful image it can not feel all that surrounds it, the sounds, smells, everything is living nature.

We arrived a little late and without dinner, so after saving things at home we decided to approach the hotel in the village and rural dinner. Treated us very well and very quiet and Agustito ate, at home. Ending and the waitress came and informed us that made a queimada and we were invited. On leaving the entrance had prepared some tables and without realizing we were drinking and charreadas twelve all together. No know if it was cold, but I went to bed warm. There is no better way to start a vacation.

After a long and difficult road on the last leg because of work. We came and watched this wonderful landscape with its huge rock masses and their strange sloping vineyards that seem to be only reachable by boat, planted by the Romans in the first century and later cared for by monks of the monasteries. The catamaran ride was nice and relaxing, but too long for my taste. As they say once and no more than St. Thomas. Benedict also visited the monastery Sto. Estevo declared a historic monument in 1923. My son liked it a lot because little like being in Harry Potter film, the truth is it was very interesting, include the three cloisters (Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance).

Lugo.

Funny lugo lights.
The city was founded between the years 26 and 12 a. C. by Paulo Fabius Maximus, the oldest capital of Galicia, Lugo has a Roman wall built in the late third and early fourth, early in the Roman Empire, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in the year 200. You can walk over the wall and view from the top all the streets of the old town and the impressive Cathedral that it is sheltered. What we liked fu the provincial museum, where tables and information as well as Roman remains kept a kitchen more or less as it was at the time.

My wife agreed that there was a pool in a nearby village and decided to go, luckily I was right. We also enjoy a swim and cool off. After we were taking a stroll through the village and we met some Palloza cribs, a small park and the Manor House Mansion Cervantes a landmark historic building XVI-XIX century renovated in 2004-05 house now. One afternoon calm down and enjoy the sun.

Cebreiro.

And without eating or drinking, a guy where we bought some cheese that cheeses, makes my mouth water, we advise you to stop by and visit this town. As you can see in the pictures is a small village that retains all the charm Celtic Palloza their homes, where you can ask permission to sleep, others converted in bars and restaurants where you can taste typical dishes. From the beginning of the pilgrimage is when Cebreiro becomes an important location of the road, where pilgrims visit the church of Santa Maria significant jewel of Romanesque art dating from the ninth century, where they seal the primer of a pilgrim. Walking through its streets gives the impression that we have stepped back in time.

East Cape, said on TV, is the westernmost part of Europe. You can visit the lighthouse built in 1853 along with some fabulous views and find one of the zero road miles from Santiago. But before moving on to the road bounced back with a succulent menu of shrimp and razor clams, seafood paella, drink and dessert for $ 10 and children's menu for 5.50.

Muxía .

If you ever decide to go Galicia, do not overlook the Muxía to approach, if the weather or are brave can swim in these beautiful beaches, but if you want to enjoy the sand does not make it too late because the tide rises and the land disappears. The most interesting part is to visit the Shrine da da Barca Virxe , accompanied by the sound of the waters of the Costa da Morte, one of the most important shrines for its large number of devotees and seniority. According to legend the Virgin came to this place in a stone boat to cheer the Apostle James and all the stones there are the remains of the boat. Also many of the rocks and stones have their legend as the stone Cadrís Os, for which people spend nine times less to cure the diseases of the kidneys or back pain. A little further up we went to the Miradosr of bodice, from which we can see magnificent views of the coast.

Time passes quickly and the only people we see, as we had recommended, Manfred Museum Gnädinger ( Man , the German artist Camelle, went jogging many evenings from camels to Ponte do Porto. One afternoon I let you photograph it say he died of grief at the disaster caused by the tanker Prestige in A Costa da Morte A tanker Man killed and a tidal wave of interest end with its museum. 2008), A History that makes the hair stand on end, the truth is that after you have fully looked for information about this character, and I leave the links, is very curious how he lived and the museum is all a work of art that was not given importance. Following the wall that we are part of the museum about the lighthouse, almost cost us a video of first the arrival, everyone was vigilant if we got wet, the waves bounced off the rocks and the water fell in the path of the wall, we had to run on occasion, the trouble is that if you stray out of fear to the right you fell to the sea .

Laxe

Laxe We had reported that in some lakes, which unfortunately we could not see for lack of time, it made us very late, Wife and I stayed only one little on the beach of fine sand and took a walk through the village, very nice. Here just our way, stopping for dinner in Santiago de Compostela and coming home at one am, after three and a half hours return trip.
On the way home we found this funny sheep.
A walk to the shelter of San Roman to see the passage of the river Navia.

placing these photos, I remembered one thing I like about Galicia , call them flies cojonera, just have an obsession with getting into the eyes, there are quite a few sites and you have to go with a gruesome stick in front of the face and how you put your trust, the one in the eye, and because many Gallegos is always going to eyes half closed. The walk was very pleasant looking fruits and if you have problems to finish cold bath in the river, or at least wet feet or sitting listening to the birds singing and the sound of river.

Melide

One of the places where we always go when we are in Galicia, if the owner of this house, my wife's uncle is Melide. Is a step to the Pilgrims as they go through several parishes of the road routes known as Primitivo and French. In addition we can also enjoy fantastic natural beauty, a rich heritage of civil and ecclesiastical architecture and the Museum of Melide Terrra. But really what we were is to eat octopus in a local tavern where they serve the octopus on wooden plates and wine casks in clay pots with great money, but this year we could not go because they changed owners and the guide did not like our degustacón was in a bar not so typical, but the octopus as good. And as usual after lunch we did what we really like the Amish, walking. We showed some beautiful places, through forests, fields, villages and roads of the pilgrim route, fantastic, wonderful, not how long I walked, I think about two hours and we were not tired, see so much nature to forget the tiredness.
Last year we were with the desire, but this does not escape. My wife's aunt came with us and showed where he picked blueberries, we had to go to the top of a mountain, the views are beautiful and Lugo came to perceive this to about 44 miles. At first I saw almost none, but we entrándonos in the forest and all the plants were and did not stop to pick up, we spent about two hours and are so small as not even half filled bag, but it was enough to eat a few and others to brandy. on the road we met a family of partridges funny that happened across the road.

Some gigs.

was not all relaxation, I also had my work days repairing the water pump, wood cutting and removing the wound to stop the ground plane was garden beside the house and after a good dinner gigs. With a stroll through the village Pontes de Gâtine to the source of the spring that provides water to us and see the restoration of the bridge between other things.

The most amazing was to see the double rainbow, the pity is that we drive and the photo was taken blindly, to stop the line of cars at a red light camera pulling the window to the photo, but it was, when at one point I could turn your head and see the full double rainbow, it is impossible to explain, but it was impressive.

ANIMALS.
These are two of the animals with whom we have had to live.

I put the bat because we went into the day we returned home and is caught in midair and open-mouthed, not if you wanted to suck my blood.
